About Rob Mullarvey
Rob Mullarvey has a background in the gaming industry that extends over 32 years, originating from N.S.W and a family that has 7 decades of experience in the hospitality industry.
Rob commenced work in the gaming industry in the late 70’s with gaming machine manufacturer Nutt & Muddle before progressing to slot manager of one of the fastest growing clubs of the time, Rich River Golf Club. With gaming firmly cemented as his chosen career, Rob was invited to Sydney with M.D.S Qantel to head up their gaming software where he extended his education in computer software and gaming analysis.
In 1983, North Ryde R.S.L Club with 300 gaming machines required the expertise to drive it to the next level and acquired his services before Rob took up the position of Assistant General Manager at North Sydney Leagues Club. It was at North Sydney Leagues Club that he showed outstanding attributes in the hospitality industry and in particular, gaming.
As an original member of the Poker Machine Council of Australia and an active member of the Licensed Clubs Association and The Club Managers Association of Australia, Rob Mullarvey received several industry awards and recognitions which allowed him to travel extensively around the world study gaming operations. In the late 80’s Rob, in conjunction with the Liquor Administration Board, successfully implemented the first Australian linked progressive Jackpot System for clubs.
After many years away from his hometown area of the Riverina, Rob returned to the area and the Mulwala & District Services Club as Assistant C.E.O where the club was successful in achieving the coveted award of N.S.W Club of the Year.
In 1993, The Scenic Outlook Group holding 13 hotel gaming licenses in South Australia invited Rob to head up the design and installation of 520 gaming machines on the initiation of gaming in South Australia. It became obvious to Rob that his extensive experience could be utilised more broadly, and Independent Gaming Analysis Pty Ltd was founded.
From a humble beginning of 300 machines, I.G.A and Rob Mullarvey have now become one of the Australian gaming industry’s most sought after business acquisitions.
